Music typesetting - or engraving - is essentially the transformation of a handwritten manuscript into a typeset, printable music score. Detail is imperative in this practice, and every note and articulation must be exactly as the writer of the manuscript intended. Modern typesetting is possible thanks to computer software (and its designers), and since the purpose of engraving is to give the music a professional typeset appearance, an advanced knowledge of this software is essential.
If you have a handwritten manuscript you would like to transform into a professional-looking printed music score, just email email@example.com and a postal address will be provided for you to send it to (please also include a return postal address). Alternatively, scan your manuscript (make sure nothing is "cut off" any of the edges) and email it to the above.
You can choose to have your music engraved using Sibelius software (recommended for professional use), or Musescore (recommended for personal and less formal use). The result will be sent as a downloadable, printable PDF file - or, if you prefer, a printed version posted to you. If applicable, please also provide a postal address so that your manuscript can be returned to you.
If there is anything you would like to edit or change about your manuscript, or if there are any other specifications, please make this clear in your enquiry.
