Matt Johnson is an American pianist, composer and teacher known for his New Age and Jazz recordings of original compositions. George Winston’s written encouragements guided Matt to begin his journey of recording back in the 1980’s. Matt’s discography includes 50+ albums which is enjoyed by a worldwide following. 

Matt is a master in his musical craft. His piano studies began at the age of six and included numerous competitions and orchestral appearances. A Bachelor degree in Piano Performance set the stage for his Master degree in Jazz Studies and Composition from the New England Conservatory of Music. A prolific writer and performer, Matt’s music employs a unique blend of contemporary jazz, new age, popular and classical elements.
