Composes for solo piano, childrens' choir, and ensemble Lives in Malvern, Worcestershire Jo studied Music in the UK and after achieving an A.L.C.M., gained a place at The Birmingham School of Music to study Composition - but before taking it up, a decision was made to acquire ‘Conservatoire’ status which required one more year in a music school which only taught classical music; a very limiting experience for a headstrong 19-year-old who thought that a year seemed like forever so instead, Birmingham band, “Quill” were looking for a keyboard player and backing vocalist - and so the the career trajectory was dramatically altered… at least for a while. A publishing deal with RCA/Arista and successful work in commercial production writing radio Idents and jingles for many of the biggest radio stations in the UK e.g. BRMB and the GWR network, followed. Music for Discovery Channel: “Bear Sanctuary” and “My Horror Home” & others were written in the ‘naughties’ and are still aired today. In March, 2011, live work took over in Europe with The Phil Bates Band including the ‘Reunification’ celebrations’ at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. Other composer jobs include:
